Trestle Table cherry, yellow cedar, 72"Lx36"Wx28"H

Portraying a dream, this Scandinavian style trestle table’s top contains carved figures in Scandinavian and Northwest Coast native style. On top of the Lion is a Raven, the “trickster”. The tail of the Lion goes into the stomach of a dragon-like creature, similar tothose on the Oseberg ship. The tail of the dragon goes into the mouth of a Whale that is breaching. The silver inlay is water coming out of the Whales’s blowhole.

The Bear has both animal and human shape. Its foot is in the mouth of a “ram”, the style which is from Norwegian stave churches. One foot of the “ram” goes into the mouth of a Dolphin. I call this piece "Tongues Across the Bering Sea".
